Oh my goodness! You lot! I am weeping with laughter here!

Barbara, thank goodness you are here to keep them in line! The naked men shocked me: I wasn't brought up to be knowing those who photograph naked bodies - especially those with appendages! There they were in all their glory on the forum and she who can't be named (Julie) and who should know better had almost injured herself climbing into all sorts of positions to take them. The other usual candidates were involved no matter how much they protest their innocence. They were all full of liquid refreshment (especially Jean and Doreen) , can't name them but you all know who they are.

Mary, you have made a good start on the arrangements but will have to try a bit better. This all sounds a bit 'normal/ run of the mill' for you/us. As Amanda says , needs a bit oomph to liven it up! I'll only be retiring the once.

Kathleen. Far be it from me to inform you of this but this forum was refined until you joined. It's been much improved since then!

This is going to be such a simple, refined, decorous and fabulous do!!!

I understand Eleanor`s request for "sedate and genteel," I really do,(sort of), but couldn`t we just have the teeniest, weeniest bit of jollity? After all, it`s mostly Jean and Mary who get us into strife, so if they can be kept under control..........................

OK. Impossible, as you say.

Eleanor - are you casting aspersions on my refinement???????????????

I think I'd better put you all straight on the "Harrogate" affair because no doubt Julie will, as soon as she sees this!
I was the one who took the photographs, but only because they all forced me up the stairs to do it.
And they said if I didn't take the photos I couldn't have any dinner so I had to do it.Unsure

Sorry Doreen, I don`t remember you being forced to take the photos - we were all quite horrified, as we sat talking quietly amongst ourselves - though I think Carmel may have got a bit excited.

Now where is this going.... soldiers, naked men in Harrogate with appendages Blushing and now doubt swinging around Blushing - I do hope you ladies at least averted your eyes Huh ?, and now Mark Owens ThumbDown ThumbDown Lizzy darling you'll have to learn finesse and if you really want to learn to dance, and I mean properly, you'll have to learn the waltz first at finishing school. Mark Owen and red boots, whatever next Mad Darling... , think Lionel Blair.

Kathleen, you have no doubt heard that Eleanor does indeed want a refined affair of the sort that has no place for ladette behaviour so I urge you to leave your gold sequin boob tube, PVC thigh high heeled boots, and red PVC mini skirt at home, and that goes for the rest of you who are thinking on similar lines.

Almost like saying Mary and Doreen are ladies like what the rest of us is! We don't need no finishing schools...we're finished already - well, Mary WILL be if she doen't get this "do" organised soon

Mark Owen sporting a pair of red boots? Argh the thought................

Thought you'd approve of that Barbara! Fancy going to a show one night, we could have a sleepover?! LOL (Me at yours I mean, NO children under 13 allowed)

As for finishing school......don't you know none of us even went to school? Too busy out partying and socialising for books!

Just naturally brainy, we are!

Amanda you're on, seriously I'm gameThumpUp

My dear, the books are not for reading, but for deportment lessons LOL LOL As for not going to school all the more reason for attending finishing school. Now you know too well that I have a soft spot for rebels; however I do have to draw the line as to what is socially permitted behaviour and what is not...

OK, for all those that have been doubting the degree of my refinement, and my grasp of social etiquette, let me tell you that finishing school may not be all it`s cracked up to be. How many of us still need to learn how to finish a bottle of wine,(or in Eleanor`s case, Pernod ?) How many of us need to be taught how to finish a box of chocolates? To finish a nice, well-prepared meal? To finish a nice dish of forbidden fruit?

Sometimes it`s the getting started that`s the problem, ladies.

However, since it IS Eleanor`s party, and since it would be no good letting Jean & Mary L loose on it without some lessons, let`s make a special effort to go to Barbara`s finishing school. If it`s in Switzerland, and they usually are, there`ll be a very good Mountain Rescue service................................ Should be well worth getting lost on the mountains if we can be up close and in a winch with a blond Alpine hunk!

Kathleen precisely my point YOU ALL KNOW HOW TO FINISH bottles of wine, chocs and the like, but what I am concerned about is the manner in which it is DONE.......etc, etc

By the way, yes there will be "BIG BLOND HUNKS," and I've recruited them from the gentlemens' night club called HEAVEN here in London, and they will be flying out with us to Klosters.... to assist with skiing and dance lessons at my finishing school nearby. I do so hope that this will please my ladies and especially Eleanor.

We're getting there! So we swing around London wearing all sorts of outfits which must incorporate glitter and tassels as per Mary's first plan. Then off to Switzerland to learn deportment and further improve on our existing skills in which we are already adept ie drinking wine/pernod/ vodka and such like; scoffing chocolates and anything else once we get the taste for food; having a huge meal placed in front of us and knowing the correct order in which to use our cutlery; to consider carefully before eating forbidden fruit. We may even have a lesson in standing on our feet, not getting involved with snakes and other oddities with two legs! Then there is Amanda's dance! Will be a night to remember!

Eleanor X

ps: message for Barbara. Will we be taking stretcher bearers on the Swiss side of things? Just thinking about the dancing accompanied by fluid retention and possible outcomes!

well Eleanor
As i'm already bringing my canoe to London i can easily arrange for it to be flown over to Switzerland. Then we will be able to use it to rescue any late night revellers who get stuck up a mountain.
This is kinda what i had in mind AND IT looks liike it could be great FUN! ;)
